Abbott Laboratories — one of the largest global medical device companies in the world — is investing $500 million in North Texas with an expansion in Irving that could create up to 100 jobs.
Established in 1888, Abbott (NYSE: ABT) is a medical technology company that makes products in diagnostics, medical devices and branded generic medicines. It employs more than 114,000 people total, including about 2,000 in DFW, according to Dallas Business Journal research.
