Epiminder, an Australian-based company with U.S. headquarters in Dallas, has been granted FDA authorization for “the first and only implantable continuous EEG monitor.” It was given authorization through the De Novo classification, which Epiminder called ‘significant,’ as it creates a new classification of device and underscores both the innovation and the clinical validation. Minder was developed to address the shortcomings in current electroencephalogram (EEG) technologies, providing reliable and actionable diagnostic data for more patients and therefore better enabling their prospects for successful epilepsy treatment, the company said.
